Yes please add this functionality, integrated with google api so notifications are added to the calendar, and utilizes their sms and email capabilities.

Is this not available? A task or todo manager is a huge benefit of any CRM.
I know it's late to the game on this post, but I have to agree. There should be some ability to assign scheduled tasks or events to a contact AND send notifications to assigned personnel about those events so they can address them. Even more slick would be the possibility to have those events trigger an automatic e-mail to the contact such as, "Hello [contact name], our records show your machine is due for..."
This should be an standard feature. Follow up is part of the core of every CRM system.
This is a MUST HAVE feature.
Add Reminders capabilities for following up clients.
Follow up this client in X [days, months] and send an email to the admin with the reminder/alert.
